The Cabinet Media Centre reported robust passenger traffic at airports managed by the Egyptian Airports Company since the start of 2026, with strong growth recorded in January and February and stable operations maintained in March, despite regional tensions impacting air travel.
Operational data shows that total passenger numbers for January and February 2026 reached approximately 4.6 million, compared to 4 million during the same period in 2025, reflecting a 15% increase and a 53% rise compared to 2024. These figures highlight strong travel demand and sustained airline confidence in Egypt’s airports.
Between March 1 and March 29, 2026, a period marked by heightened regional tensions, Egyptian airports served 2.2 million passengers, representing a 7.8% increase over the same period in 2025. This underscores the resilience of Egypt’s airports in maintaining stable operations and uninterrupted travel under challenging circumstances.
The Egyptian Airports Company, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, oversees 22 airports across the country, ensuring high standards of service and operational efficiency throughout its network.
